Centering Prayer Class
Want to start your workday in silence and non-busyness? Come to this centering prayer service/class on Thursday morning, May 10, 7:30 am – 8:30 am. It is for individuals who want to start their workday with centering prayer and are interested in learning about this early Christian contemplative tradition.
Centering Prayer, which places a strong emphasis on interior silence, finds its roots in the contemplative practices of the Desert Fathers. In her book Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening, Cynthia Bourgeault, an Episcopal priest, writes “that even though we can perhaps find ways to stop ‘outer noise’ it is much more difficult to still the ‘inner noise.’”
