Volunteer Opportunities – Capitol Hill Good Neighbor Refugee Resettlement Project
Refugees need furnishings, but they also need FRIENDS!
Many Afghan families in our circle have faced huge challenges and adjustments during the past year. They miss their home but are grateful for the welcome they have received in the U.S. However, wives at home are more isolated and less confident. Gaining basic English competence is important for their futures as well as for relationship with their children and husbands who are coping with school and jobs while building sustainable lives in a new society.
Please join the Capitol Hill Good Neighbor Refugee Resettlement Project as a VOLUNTEER. Learn more about the variety of opportunities for friendship with refugees. Get information and explore how you might make a difference with a team of others WEDNESDAY, MAY 9 (7:00 – 8:30 pm) ST. MARK’S CHURCH – lower level in the Rector’s Room.
If you can’t come but want to participate contact Karen Getman.
