Panel discussion: Afghan Culture and the Effects of Destabilization on the Assimilation of Refugee Families in the U.S.

On Tuesday evening, September 25 (7–8:30 pm), a panel of Afghan émigrés sponsored by the Capitol Hill Good Neighbor Refugee Project will discuss Afghan culture and how destabilization affects the assimilation of refugee families. The panelists, who will include Fawzia Etamadi (Window of Peace), will provide some history of Afghanistan and the challenges those who have fled their homeland face as they create a new life here. Join us in Baxter Hall at St. Mark’s Church, 300 A Street SE. Light mezze will be served.
