At St. Mark’s, we believe that service and justice are vital in our commitment to living out the Gospel, both close to home and far away. We are located just blocks from the nation’s Capitol, and so have become a pilgrimage site for many who travel to DC to visit their representatives in Congress, attend rallies, and sometimes stage peaceful protests.

On a more regular basis, our Outreach Board is responsible for overseeing the work of several areas of ministry in which St. Mark’s parishioners join together with other local groups and churches to help meet the basic needs of those in our Capitol Hill neighborhood and Washington diocese who lack the basics of food, shelter, or friendship. Other parishioners are deeply involved in International Outreach activities as well as the special work we have done annually since 2012 in the area of Gun Violence Prevention. St. Mark’s youth also get involved in service and justice projects.
